Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Focussing on applied Physical Geography, the objective of this course is to provide an understanding of different methods in project design. First, methods of scientific writing will be discussed focussing on the conceptual design of projects (the basics of scientific working are required, as presented in the undergraduate courses). Second, the basics of a successful conceptual design of projects in Physical Geography will be highlighted from a theoretical point of view as well as from practical experience. The course will give insight in the common structure of project design, such as title, abstract, methods, expected results, budget, planning and organisation of field studies, etc. Furthermore, technical details will be discussed, e.g. the review procedure. Within this course, students will work on their individual project designs (in English).
