Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Zu Beginn des Semesters wird zunächst der Zusammenhang zwischen Geographie- und Wissenschaftsgeschichte skizziert. Im Hauptteil gibt die Veranstaltung einen Überblick über die für die Geographie und Raumordnung wichtigsten Paradigmen der Wissenschaftstheorie: Positivismus, Logischer Empirismus, Kritischer Rationalismus, Hermeneutik, Konstruktivismus, Kritische Theorie, Postmoderne, Transdisziplinarität. Fragen der Paradigmenkonkurrenz und Paradigmenvielfalt schließen sich an. Im zweiten Teil der Veranstaltung werden Fragen der Forschungsplanung und der Organisation von Forschungsprozessen behandelt. Schließlich sollen Studierende die Anlage ihrer Arbeit vorstellen und wissenschaftstheoretisch reflektieren und einordnen.

Assessment and permitted materials

Präsentation und wissenschaftstheoretische Reflexion des Dissertations- bzw. Masterprojekts oder schriftlicher Test am Ende der Veranstaltung.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Das Proseminar richtet sich an Studierende im Doktoratsstudium und im Masterstudium. Es soll das notwendige methodologische Rüstzeug für eine eigenständige wissenschaftliche Arbeit vermittelt werden.
