Aims, contents and method of the course

This course focuses on the Transformation of Vienna's gründerzeitlichen building stock. Based on a survey in, recent real estate projects will be identified and analysed (e.g. Transformation and Gentrification). The intention of this course is to combine actor-oriented methods and analyses of the public space/ground floor.

Aim of the course: application of different methods to analyse the transformation on urban housing markets

requirements: proactive presence, conducting a neighbourhood-analysis, contribution to discussion, reading of compulsory literature, presentation and final report

Aims, contents and method of the course

Inhalt: Diese Übung fokussiert auf Transformationsprozesse im gründerzeitlichen Baubestand Wiens. Mittels einer eigenständig durchgeführten Erhebung sollen die Veränderungen (insbes. Gentrifizierungs- und Verdrängungsprozesse) in ausgewählten Grätzeln in Wien untersucht werden. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei einerseits die immobilienwirtschaftlichen Akteure (Investoren, Developer, Bauträger), andererseits die sozialräumlichen Veränderungen in den Grätzeln.

Ziele: Studierende sollen in der Lage sein, unterschiedliche Methoden zur Analyse der Veränderungen am Wohnungsmarkt anzuwenden.

Mindestanforderungen: proaktive Anwesenheit, Mitarbeit an der Grätzelerhebung, Beteiligung an Diskussionen, Studium der Pflichtliteratur, Präsentation und Abschlussbericht.

- aktive Teilnahme an der LV über Distance Learning (30 Punkte)
- Zwischenberichte (20 Punkte)
