The lecture goes more deeply in a theoretical and practical way into the use of cartographical medias (and graphicacy) in theaching geography in school. This reaches from the use of maps in atlasses and school-textbooks, the use of big-scaled ordnance-survey-maps and diagramms to the use of this sources in connection with IT and new media. In this way different solutions in geography teaching with maps in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, England and France are compared too.
The proseminar is in the manner of blended-learning accompanied and supported by an open virtual website: URL: http://homepage.univie.ac.at/christian.sitte/FD/ws2006/index.html
