Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This proseminar is aimed for students in the second stage of study. It is held in collaboration between a kartographer and a geography-didactican.
The lecture goes more deeply in a theoretical and practical way into the use of cartographical medias (and graphicacy) in theaching geography in school. This reaches from the use of maps in atlasses and school-textbooks, the use of big-scaled ordnance-survey-maps and diagramms to the use of this sources in connection with IT and new media. In this way different solutions in geography teaching with maps in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, England and France are compared too.

Assessment and permitted materials

- Regelmäßige Teilnahme und Mitarbeit im Proseminar (20 % d. Gesamtbeurteilung)
- entweder 1 Kurzreferat und 2 - bzw. ohne Referat 3 - abzuliefernde Programme (zusammen 36 % d. Gesamtbeurteilung)
- eine (auch gemeinsam von 2 Teilnehmern) anzufertigende fachdidaktische Untersuchung (44 % d. Gesamtbeurteilung) bzw. eine Anwendungsaufgabe

Die schriftliche Abschlussarbeit müssen Sie bis zum 30. April 2016 abgeben (CD-ROM und Ausdruck).

Feedbackgespräch auf Wunsch nach vorheriger Terminvereinbarung.

Das Proseminar wird in Form einer prüfungsimmanenten Lehrveranstaltungen abgehalten. Es besteht Anwesenheitspflicht (max. 3 Fehleinheiten) und Sie müssen während des Semesters mehrere mündliche und schriftliche Leistungen erbringen, um positiv beurteilt zu werden.

Sind Sie zu einer prüfungsimmanenten Lehrveranstaltung angemeldet, nehmen jedoch nicht teil ohne sich während der Abmeldefrist (31.10.2015) über Univis abzumelden, werden Sie für diese Lehrveranstaltung negativ beurteilt. Bei einer negativen Beurteilung muss die gesamte Lehrveranstaltung wiederholt werden.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Fachdidaktische Hintergründe des Schulfaches Geographie (und Wirtschaftskunde) in ihrer Veränderung bzw. in ihren unterschiedlichen Umsetzungen in den kartographischen Leitmedien analysieren und beurteilen lernen.

Ausgehend von der Nutzung großmaßstäbiger Karten im Unterricht, werden Karten, (Luft-)Bilder bzw. Diagramme und ihr fachdidaktisch adäquater Einsatz in den Unterrichtsmedien Schulatlas, Schulbuch aber auch gemeinsam mit dem WWW analysiert und unterschiedliche Anwendungsmöglichkeiten untersucht.
