Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar deals with recent trends on urban office- and housing-markets. The main intention is a comprehensive review of existing theories and methodic approaches and a discussion of the (limited?) explanatory value in different urban regulations and contexts.

The aim of the seminar is extend and deepen knowledge on real-estate-oriented theries in the field of urban research; to acquire the ability to reflect existing theories; to improve techniques in oral and written presentations

Methods: Lectures, group work and subject-specific presentations (two-person teams), group discussion

Assessment and permitted materials

written paper (30 pages) and oral presentation, participation in discussions

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presence with a maximum of 2x unexplained absence (= 2 units of 2 hours each);
Basis for assessment: oral presentation 30%, paper 40%, discussion 30%.
