Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims
The aim of this course is to provide students with a structured overview of selected topics in property and housing market research in South Eastern Europe.

Content: The seminar deals with current developments in property and housing markets. The relevant theories, concepts and methods will be analysed and compared in depth. The theories will also be critically analysed with regard to their explanatory power in different urban contexts.

Methods: Lecture, group work and topic-specific presentations (teams of two), group discussion

Proactive participation, oral presentation, participation in discussions, writing a 20-page seminar paper (10 pages per person)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance with a maximum of 2x unexcused absences (= 2 units of 2 hours each);
Basis for assessment: oral presentations 40%; written work 40%; participation in discussion 20%.
