Aims, contents and method of the course

The students of Geography and Economics / Teacher Training for Grammar Schools / Schools in Secondary Education are trained to become coordinators for Preparation for Choice of Study and Occupation of the pupils.
Main topics:
o "Preparation for the World of Employment and Occupation" as a teaching principle in the entire canon of subjects of primary and secondary AHS
o Variants of implementation in teaching (one-hour, subject-integrated, project variant,
compulsory optional subject, module)
o Career Guidance and Life Management
o Geography teaching at primary AHS, overlaps with Career Guidance
o Extracurricular cooperation for the teaching of Career Guidance (BIWI, Volkswirtschaftliche Gesellschaft, AK Wien L14), cooperation with enterprises (e.g. Opel Powertrain, AUA) and
schools (GORg 21 Gerasdorferstraße and GRg 21 Franklinstraße 26)
o "Gender-Mainstreaming" and Career Guidance
o Realistic meetings (school and business explorations)
o organisational preparation
o focus of exploration
o Application training (for the application at a school) "Application - How to advertise myself"
o Coaching for graduates

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

¿ Acquirement of basic knowledge concerning the matter of preparing pupils in their career choice and choice of field of study
¿ Overview of the current level of research
¿ Acquisition of theoretical and practical skills in order to instruct learners at the age of 10 to 18 years in their career choice and their choice of field of study
