Aims, contents and method of the course

The students of Geography and Economics / Teacher Training for Grammar Schools / Schools in Secondary Education are trained to become coordinators for Preparation for Choice of Study and Occupation of the pupils.
Main topics:
o "Preparation for the World of Employment and Occupation" as a teaching principle in the entire canon of subjects of primary and secondary AHS
o Variants of implementation in teaching (one-hour, subject-integrated, project variant,
compulsory optional subject, module)
o Career Guidance and Life Management
o Geography teaching at primary AHS, overlaps with Career Guidance
o Extracurricular cooperation for the teaching of Career Guidance (BIWI, Volkswirtschaftliche Gesellschaft, AK Wien L14), cooperation with enterprises and
schools (GORg 21 Gerasdorferstraße, Ella Lingensgymnasium)
o "Gender-Mainstreaming" and Career Guidance
o Realistic meetings (school and business explorations)
o organisational preparation
o focus of exploration
o Application training (for the application at a school) "Application - How to advertise myself"
o Coaching for graduates

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

o Acquirement of basic knowledge concerning the matter of preparing pupils in their career choice and choice of field of study
o Overview of the current level of research
o Acquisition of theoretical and practical skills in order to instruct learners at the age of 10 to 18 years in their career choice and their choice of field of study
