Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In the seminar 'Forum Periurban' we examine the spatial development of the "Zwischenstadt" (intermediate city). Using the example of the southern periphery of Vienna, students develop a comprehensive understanding of the periurban space in close contact with the field and through theoretical deepening, and develop a scientific analysis of a self-chosen question.
After completing the course, students will be able to:
• Name and identify development logics of sub- and periurbanization.
• Analyze and understand complex spatial relationships and their morphology and make them visible.
• Develop scientific questions inductively/exploratively and formulate theses on spatial development.
• Outline options for action for spatial development and formulate their own positions.
