Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The subject of the lecture is, on the one hand, to convey a basic understanding of the extraterrestrial, geological and biophysical causes of the Earth's climate, as well as its influence by humans. On the other hand, the lecture will present the consequences of climate change on human lifestyles as well as ways to cope with and mitigate it.
In the lecture, lecturers from climatology, physical geography and anthropogeography will present different aspects of the topic.

The overheads of the lectures are provided in the moodle course. Furthermore, the lectures will be recorded and are available for viewing in the moodle course until February 28th, 2024.

Assessment and permitted materials

Multiple-Choice-Online-Examination (Klausur) at the end of the semester. The exam takes place on site in the lecture hall. No materials allowed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students recognise the causes and contexts of current and past climate change and the role in causing and managing climate change.

Examination topics

Contents of the lecture: the exam will consist of questions on all topics of the lecture.
