Aims, contents and method of the course

Contents: Analysing and discussing objectives of economic policy by
taking into account important economic theories - Discussing
correlations between the present economic situation and the efficiency
of different economic measures - Assessing the meaningfulness of
economic indicators - Analysing economic objectives as to their
historical change - Working out the role budget policy plays within
economic policy - Analysing the prerequisites of the curriculum and
deducting further goals - Adapting a certain economic topic for junior
as well as high school level.

Assessment and permitted materials

Demands to be met by the students:
Active participation during lessons; reading of recommended texts and
finding out informative material; cooperation with drawing up new
materials or games throughout the course;
final thesis: transfer of selected topics to junior up to high-school level.

The performance evaluation (including the grade) results from the above-named elements, which will be rated differently depending on the working effort.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Subject matter: The basics of Austrian economy policy
Main objective: Revision and consolidation of the fundamental principles of economic policy as well as the construction of adequate methods and materials to transpose the
theories into practical teaching (all levels).

Examination topics

Case-based team works, discussions, consolidation of activity based tuition sequences and course materials, participating in some excursions.
