Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The importance and the shift of rural areas in society and space will be discussed. Rural areas are changing demographically, socially and economically. E.g. A geographically rural space may now be overlapped by many different social spaces, thus transforming traditional countryside.
Structural developments in reality and perception are analyzed on the example of the alpine region, its history and actual structure. An outlook is given regarding the future of rural areas in the frame of the worldwide goal of a sustainable development.

Erörterung von Basiskonzepten einer Geographie Ländlicher Räume, Analyse Ländlicher Räume Europas, Diskussion von Entwicklungen Ländlicher Räume anhand von ausgewählten Beispielen und Messgrößen Zukunftsperspektiven unterschiedlicher Raumtypen.
