The participants should understand the significance of cartographic visualisation of thematic phenomena. They must also comprehend the usage of various depiction methods for spatial information within geography and cartography and be aware of when these can be applied. The cognition of identifying and solving problems within the scope of cartography and geo-communication in today's modern information society and working in teams is, beside the acquisition of cartographic knowledge and competence, a major cornerstone of this course.
