Aims, contents and method of the course

This course covers the following fields and topics: basics of scientific thinking and metod; dealing with literature and scientific sources; correct citations; searching and finding literature; research topics, research questions, hypotheses; designing seminar and working papers

Assessment and permitted materials

+ Regular attendance

+ Participation in class

+ Timely submission of all homework assignments

+ Library excursion

+ Submission of final paper (portfolio)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- To achieve an overview of central working fields of scientific thinking and methods
- Introducing and discussing research topics, questions and methods for a selected field of research plus a literature review
- Application of learnt methods on the basis of practical examples
