Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Techniques of GIS- and model-based field mapping of soil erosion processes and sediment budgeting approaches in small agricultural catchments are taught.
The students will gain a deeper understanding of the processes involved (e.g. interdependencies between influencing factors) as well as to apply and critically discuss different kinds of methods. Moreover, insights in environmental issues related to fine sediment and nutrient/pollutant input from arable fields into river ecosystems are gained.
