Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course focuses on new building and re-construction activities in Vienna's gründerzeitlichen building stock. Based on a survey in the 16th district, recent real estate projects will be identified and analysed due to its housing provision chain (e.g. target group, financing, marketing, supplied appartments). Further, for areas with a high density of new builing projects a qualitative analysis of the surrounding (Grätzl) will be conducted.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

IN this course, students shall gain the following techniques/competences:
- conduct and organize the analysis of housing provision chains
- critical reflection of property developer
- discussing the interaction between property developments and general trends in urban development

Examination topics

In this course, the following methods will be conducted:
- survey and mapping of real estate projects
- Online-Recherche/expert interviews
- qualitative Grätzl-analysis
- final report
