Aims, contents and method of the course
Course graduates shall become familiar with some significant perspectives of thought and concepts of social sciences and acquire the ability to comprehend and interpret simple texts relating to social science. They should know about the basic principles of social processes and structures and be able to correctly apply basic terms describing the social world. Topics of the course programme are: Specific characteristics of social scientific perspectives, socialisation, social interaction, social action and social roles, social groups, social and individual systems, social values and norms, social conflicts, power and control, social disparities and inequalities, social classes, social status and social mobility.
