Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The targets of this course are getting in contact with and learning the basic workflows of 3D modelling techniques based on 2D GIS data. To learn how to use different 3D GIS applications is one of the main goals and center point of this course. Furthermore the creation of dynamic layouts, publishing of 3D outputs and working with different online contents are highlighted.
Necessary requirements for attending this course are basic knowledge in using Esri ArcGIS and the positive completion of "PS Angewandte Geoinformation". Coding knowledge is an advantage but no requirement.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Ability to use different 3D GIS applications
- Create, edit and publish 3D data
- Using 2D data in the 3D world

After completing this course students should be able to create 3D content based on 2D data and use it for ensuring analyses and modellings which could be published and used via web services.

The rating is: 40% attendance, 20% participation, 40% final project
