Aims, contents and method of the course
The course offers an introduction to programming and shows the customization of a GIS (ArcGIS) with Python scripts. The following subjects will be discussed: basics of data processing, basics of programming languages, programming techniques, introduction to scripting with Python, customization of ArcGIS with Python scripts.
Assessment and permitted materials
Assessment will be done by one interim test and one final test as well as assignments. For the final test the ArcGIS help system is allowed.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
For each of the tests 16 points can be achieved; for the assignments 32 points can be achieved. In total 64 points are possible. To pass the course at least 39 points must be achieved. For the grading scale refer to the Moodle page of the course.
