Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The students follow a Vienna mountain torrent from the Vienna Woods into the city and get to know the (fluvio-) geomorphological processes and features that are connected to it.

Furthermore, they will know that the river is a resource as well as a natural hazard in a metropolitan area and understand the necessity and function of river engineering, flood protection-, and deregulation measurements and their respective impacts on the water ecology and quality.
Finally, they will learn the development and characteristics of Vienna's sewer system.
