Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Building on previous lectures: tourism development toolkit for geographers, process-related knowledge, familiarity with interests of key actors, elaboration of studies, target group analysis, regional platforms, web-based improvement tools, regional platforms, infrastructure planning, project planning, funding schemes, marketing, good practice.

Assessment and permitted materials

40% final written test, 30% group-work, 30% active cooperation and posing of good questions

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Introduction into the tourism business, brief expert inputs interchanging with work in small groups, role playing and analyzing of decision cases, practical work with tools, sufficient space for questions and suggestions. Territorial background : Central Europe.

Examination topics

Deep understanding of driving forces of tourism development, enabling students to creatively develop ideas and test their feasibility and to develop tourism-related projects
