Projectseminar Applied Geography, Spatial Research and Spatial Planning: Nature Parks and Regional Development
The seminar deals with the question of the new nature park politics in the Burgenland between promise and implementation. It will focus on the relevant judicial framework, policies for and approaches towards implementation, public perception of the various four park regions, and likely future dynamics regarding the local development and the Raumordnung.
In the course of a field trip the students will undertake an analysis of the policy, planning and management framework and the perception of tourists regarding four nature parks in the Burgenland. The seminar will undertake an in-depth comparison in the second tier parks and protected areas in the Burgenland and other selected provinces of Austria and Europe.
