If you have joined us in previous lecture series and obtained a grade, you can still join us this semester as well! This lecture has a different lecture number than the previous ones and therefore it counts as a different and new lecture.This lecture series provides an interdisciplinary perspective on climate change and its impacts on the (a)biotic environment and human livelihoods. In particular, it puts a focus on the quest for identifying solutions to the looming climate change crisis. The talks are given by eminent scholars in their fields.It will address current issues from various disciplines: climate science, geography, economics, cultural studies, political science, law, finance and many more.All of the speakers are well-known researchers in their respective fields and beyond. They are from various institutions: University of Vienna, Technical University of Vienna (TU), Potsdam-Institut für Klimafolgenforschung (PIK), University of Oxford, University of Lausanne, Universität Tübingen, IIASA,...
Many of the speakers participate in public debates about the probable effects of the current climate crisis and about possible remedies. The final program will be presented in due time.This lecture series is open to all students of the University of Vienna and to the wider public.
