Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Terms and concepts of freshwater ecology will be presented during the excursion. We will focus on the anthropogenic impacts on the ecosystem river and the system understanding for catchment processes. Additionally, we will discuss the ecosystem service concept at the Mödlingbach as case study.
Assessment and permitted materials
Each student has to prepare a minute of the excursion including the results of the group work. Additionally, the participants must elaborate a topic of the excursion, chosen according to their interest.

- Identifying and understanding of cause-effect-relationships in riverine landscapes,
- Identifying and discussing anthropogenic impacts on freshwater ecosystems, their effects and possible restoration measures,
- Understanding the ecosystem service concept
