Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

After the completion of the Wienerwald tunnel at the Westbahn railway track in December 2012, the train station Tullnerfeld was opened as a new transport hub which holds potential to become focal point for new urban and residential development between Vienna and St. Poelten. The Seminar investigates on past development processes and future development opportunities of this hub in Tullnerfeld. During the Seminar we will identify, reconstruct and assess the dynamics of space production; until arriving at local planning perspectives for the future.
The students will be get the task to form working groups and conduct a specific research question indepentently. The chosen research question has to be located within the theoretical literature, later operationalized and finally (empirically) answered. Results have to be documented in written and oral form. In the course of the Seminar, several progress reports (concept, interim report, final report) and respective presentations will be requested.

Assessment and permitted materials

The marking will be derived from the written reports and from the presentations in the seminar.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements for success derive from the specific type of course, i.e. a Seminar. Especially, this means a regular and active participation and a completion of requested progress reports.
