Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Human mobility - voluntary or forced - is simultaneously an expression and a driving force of social, economic, and ecological transformation processes. Through continuous migration flows, translocal networks between places of origin and places of destination of migrants become more and more interwoven. The seminar seeks to provide the participants with an overview of different dimensions of causes and consequences of migration and translocality. The participants should be able to apply concepts and theories to comprehend the relevant phenomenon. The seminar focuses on voluntary as well as forced migration. Places of origin as well as places of destination are addressed. The topic is exemplified with case studies from South- and South-East Asia.
