Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This one-day field-trip looks at large-scale redevelopment projects across Vienna that (had and) are going to have a severe impact on the urban fabric, socio-demographic composition and quality of living within city-limits. By meeting selected local experts, this course aims at an understanding of urban development processes, the actors involved and their contextual framework. We apply an actors-centred approach while visiting and discussion the urban projects on-site. In addition, we put the processes observed into comparison with similar large-scale projects in European and North-American cities.
