Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Evaluation is based on active participation (10%), story concept (10%), final outline of an article for the GenderATlas (40%), final presentation (10%), peer reviews (30%)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Minimum presence in shared class hours (80%), delivery and presentation of story concept, delivery and presentation of final outline for a potential GenderATlas article (including story-line, adequate preparation of data base, textual components, outline for visualizations), two peer review.
For a positive assessment of the course a minimum of 56 out of 100 points has to be reached.

Aims: Students know what themes in spatial gender analysis are relevant at different spatial scales. They are able to draft gender relevant research questions for new types of data and topics. They are able to evaluate different types of data, data presentation and indicators critically from a gender perspective. They are able to prepare data and visualize information in an easily accessible way. They are able to produce different types of textual modules with regard to meaningful online communication. They are familiar with different options of visualization and are able to use these in a targeted way for their own stories. They have gained experience in working with potential clients. They have done research for a gender policy relevant article and written the outline for a new GenderAtlas story. They have written two critical peer reviews on other articles.
Method: Input lectures, development of articles in small groups, individual meetings to discuss themes, story lines, data analysis and visualization, communication with data providing institutions, presentation of concept and article, peer-reviewing
