Aims, contents and method of the course
Since the 1990ies migration research in Austria has been predominantly dealing with international migration and the issues of integration of Austria¿s foreign population, processes of internal migration, especially the migration of the elderly to peripheral areas, have increasingly become a focus of scientific and public interest. Aim of this course is to analyse the determinants, spatial patterns, scope and consequences of spatial mobility in selected peripheral areas of Austria.
