Aims, contents and method of the course

Conceptual Design of Projects and Methods of Applied Geomorphology

The objective of this course is focused on the understanding of different methods and techniques in applied geomorphology. Based on examples the potential of various methods and techniques (e.g. mapping, airphoto-interpretation, underground prospection, catchment analysis) will be critically discussed. This includes the possible integration into applied geomorphological projects. In addition fundamental basics and principles of conceptual project planning will be learned. Planning, realisation and a critical assessment of applied studies are further topics. The framework of this course consists of theoretical issues combined with practical studies in small working groups.
