Aims, contents and method of the course

The interplay between the abiotic and biotic environment and the integrative function of Landscape Ecology ar contents of the lecture. The causes for the differentiation of the biosphere and its spatial and temporal components ar at the core of the course. The lecture provides a theoretical basis for field wirk in Biogeography and Landscape Ecology.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam with 8 open questions. Key:
100-87%: 1; 86.99-75%: 2; 74.99-62%: 3; 61.99-50%: 4

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The aim is:
- to teach the interdependency of abiotic and biotic systems
- to impart basic knowledge of processes in space and time
- to teach methods of landscape ecology

Examination topics

The exam is based on the following textbook: The Routledge handbook of landscape ecology (see: Reading List).
Chapters 1-4 and 6-9 are relevant for the exam.
One open question will be asked on each of the chapters mentioned.
