Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture on Fundamentals in Geomorphology will provide information on geomorphic processes and forms. After acknowledging the historic evolution of the subject, fundamentals of the various related issues are presented. Based on endogenic processes such as plate tectonics and vulcanismn, exogenic processes and forms are detailed. This includes themes covering fluvial -, limnic and coastal -, landsliding -, perigalcial - and glacial processes and forms. In a final part, some perspectives on geomorphology are given.
After successful graduation of the lecture, students are aware of basic concepts in geomorphology and of perspectives of the overall discipline.
