After accomplishing the course, the students will be able to critically analyse spectific methods and Instruments, as well as to assess their systemic differences - for example along formal/informal, or incremental/strategic typologies. A new institutionalist perspective will guide the course. This opens the view towars actors of planning and their scope of action. Content-wise, the course focuses on Austrian spatial planning practice, with some examples of international spatial planning practice. Statutory spatial planning will be most relevant, however, methods and instruments of spatially relevant sector policies may be addressed as well. The course will procede in online plenary lectures plus interactive parts. Additionally, students will get some home reading, home work and group assignments to do.
