Aims, contents and method of the course

Remote sensing is a principle method in geography to detect land use and land use change but also to quantify parameters not only in ecology.

The course is linked to the Projektseminar aus Physiogeographie „Auswirkungen des globalen Umweltwandels auf Naturgefahren“. Therefore it is recommended for all participants of the seminar to take part in the remote sensing course.

Only students with a profound computing knowledge and basic understanding of mathematics should visit this course.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Aim of the course the production thematic maps based on satellite data.

Examination topics

Beside the presentation of principles of remote sensing the main focus is on guided practical work with satellite data.
