Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This excursion will be held at the end of September. The route will lead to selected places in currently or former marginalized areas of Northern Lower Austria (Waldviertel). In general this northernmost province of Austria has been developing quite well throughout the last decade due to the lifting of the "Iron Curtain" and through the entry of the Czech Republic into the EU, but in several parts of the region there are still many social and economic problems prevailing. The range of places of interest stretches from Industrial estates, touristic initiatives to agricultural sites etc. Each of the chosen localities will serve as an example of a specific economic or social development.
