- Development of Networks of Control Points (horizontal and vertical)
- Measurement Systems (nonmetric and metric), Development of the Prime Meridian
- Data Acquisition by Detail Measurements (19th and 20th Century), including Development of Photogrammetry
- Methods of Visualisation of Spatial Data (Topographic Data), in particular Relief Representation (19th and 20th Century)
- New Methods of Map Reproduction (Lithography, Chromolithography, Printing by Stone, Offsetprinting)
- the four Austrian Surveys and the Most important Map Series (18th to 20th Century)
