Aims, contents and method of the course

Geodatabases
The course offers an introduction to database technology with special emphasis on spatial data. The following topics will be discussed:
1. Principles of databases
2. Entity/Relationship model
3. Relational databases
4. Oracle and SQL
5. Database design
6. Spatial models
7. ArcSDE and ESRI geodatabases
8. Database design with MS Visio
