Aims, contents and method of the course

The goal of this 6-day excursion is to demonstrate and experience cartography in a mountainous environment and to broach the spatial issue of modern science within the domain of geoinformation technology. Theoretical methods and practical issues dominate the work during the excursion.
- Theory and praxis of GPS
- Cartographic field inspection and work
- Map comparison and analysis
- Orientation and navigation
- Satellite image utilisation and analysis methods in mountainous regions
- Terrain representation in mountainous regions
- Map related depiction and multi media in mountainous regions
