Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This lecture deals specifically with the principles of cartography, web based geo-information processing and geo-communication. In the course of the lecture the main terms, methods, concepts as well as methodical and practical approaches are discussed. Practical exercises round up the class. The participants should understand the significance of cartographic visualisation of thematic phenomena. They must also comprehend the usage of various depiction methods for spatial information within geography and cartography and be aware of when these can be applied. The cognition of identifying and solving problems within the scope of cartography and geo-communication in today's modern information society and working in teams is, beside the acquisition of cartographic knowledge and competence, a major cornerstone of this course.
