Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introductory course to geomorphology for students of educational studies
Contents: landforms and materials of the earth surface; geomorphological processes. Fundamentals of selected sub disciplines in geomorphology: size and shape of the earth, plate tectonics, lithology, volcanism, weathering, mass movements, fluvial geomorphology, Karst and glacial geomorphology.
Objective: teaching of the fundamentals, supervision of term projects, in which the students are expected to apply the taught topics, tutorial in geomorpological methods.

Assessment and permitted materials

Seminar thesis, written exam

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Knowledge of the fundamentals in geomorphology and projects, in which the students are expected to apply the taught topics.

Examination topics

Teaching of the fundamentals, supervision to apply the taught topics in a written report.
