Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Based on the courses "Einführung in die Statistik I+II", this course aims at a consolidation of statistics for geographers and addresses students in the advanced study period. It centers on the most important multivariate statistical methods such as Regression-, Path-, Cluster- Discriminant- and Factor- Analysis. The course is divided into a lecture and a exercise course. Special emphasize is given to the computer supported use of the methods for geographical questions. The students will be couraged to bring in own research questions and discuss them in the exercise course. Thus the relevance of quantitative methods within scientific work will be pointed out even more clearly.
