Aims, contents and method of the course

Aim:
Sttudents will be introduced into geomorphic issues which are also relevant in society and economy. They will get a better insight into geomorphic dynamics acting at different spatio-temporal scales - and which are relevant for society. Students will be able to reproduce solutions for different exanmples and will be able to design solutions for other geomorphic fields.

Content:
Introduction into individual reasearch topics by experts of the Working Group "Physical Geography".

Methods: Presentation, discussion and writing small exercises.

Assessment and permitted materials

Attendance, written exercises, final exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The mark is based on points. The max. number are 100 points. To be graded positive, the following minimum requirements have to be met:
- 60 points through contributions and the exercise
- 40 points for the final written exam.

Key for the grades:
>=88 points: very good
87-76 points: good
75-63 points: satisfying
62-51 points: sufficient
< 51 points: not sufficient

Examination topics

The to be examined materials include the overheads of the individual presentations (a regular attendance is compulsory), the idententified literatur refences and the exercise of the respective lecturer.

Reading list

The relevant literature will be announced by the individual lectures respectively.
