290215 VU Spatial Planning and Regional Policy in Austria (2008S)

The main goal of the lecture is the information about the development of Spatial Planning in Austria, the legal basis and instruments as well as their implementation at the various spatial levels (Austria, Länder, regions, lcommunities), the imbedding of the Austrian Spatial Planning in the European framework (Council of Europe, European Union), the various forms of crossborder cooperation (bilateral, transnational, interregional) and the information about Spatial Planning in neughbouring states, shown by examples from Germany and Hungary.
A further goal is the information about Regional Policy in Austria and its implementation in connection with Regional Policy at European level (EU), on the basis of the decrees since 1994 and the programs for objectives and community initiatives with Austrian participation.
