Aims, contents and method of the course

Having attended this lecture you will be able to:
- apply the six key elements of destination management: organisation of core business, development of marketing networks, building brands, quality assessment, ensuring knowledge transfer and cooperation between the stakeholders
- assess the state of development of Austrian destinations
- value the need of information and the degrees of freedom for actions of Austrian destination managers
- understand strategies of European top destinations

Content: Destination management turns loose tourist region networks into strategicly acting units in market. Destination management opens the international market to the regions.

Methodologies and assessment: Lecture under involvement of one guest lecturer; assessment is based on a written examination as well as the preparation of a regional example for a short presentation.
