Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The excursion goes to various landslides in Lower Austria, e.g. to rock fall activities at the Ofenloch next to Waidhofen/Ybbs, to riparian caves in Waidhofen/Ybbs and to a earthflow next to Konradsheim.
Different geological predispositions will be discussed as well as the triggering factors. Since landslides have caused damage, aspects of how society deals with the phenomenon landslide will be addressed and potential options within a risk management framework will be discussed.
