Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The goal of the exercise is to carry out a geomorphological evaluation for a selected study area in the vicinity of Vienna. The landforms, the processes which caused these landforms and the recently ongoing processes are to be evaluated. If applicable human impacts and the consequences of the processes for the society should be estimated.
The landforms will be surveyed using a modern terrestrial laserscanner. Data processing will be carried out using a specialised software and GIS. To get the necessary information on the subsurface pneumatic drillings with a drilling rig are taken out. The field studies are completed by geomorphological mapping to more easily combine the gathered information on the surface and subsurface.
