Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

What started at the latest in 2022, but according to expert views already by 2014/2015, is increasing in 2025: conflicts, crises and war are steadly moving closer to the European core region.

The students have gained an overview to the political geography and geopolitical situation in selected European regions.

Exemplarily, conflict regions spanning a geographical arch from the Arctic and the Baltics over Eastern and Southern Europe, the Mediterranean region to the Caucasus are examined more closely.

The conflicts therein cover a wide spectrum of political geography, from war to territorial to ethnic, economic, social and political challenges.

The lecture will be supported by audio-visuals and selected reading.
