Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims:
Reflection, monitoring and support of students at the crossroads between school and university education in GW.
Reflection on and challenge of students' motivation for choosing the particular field of study and the teaching profession.
Confrontation of students with the aims and requirements of teaching and the university education for becoming teacher in "geography and economics".
The course is designed as a guideline which is meant to give students the opportunity to thoroughly reflect their choice of studies, to analyse the requirements of teacher training and teaching practice. Students have the
opportunity to challenge their choice of profession and will be prepared for continuative courses.

Methodology:
Various modern teaching methods will be used and tried out by students themselves, which will facilitate a reflection process (e.g. action research, open (student-centred) learning, project-oriented learning, design
of mental maps, pair- and group work, portfolio work)
