Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course aims to support the student in the preparation of a BA thesis concept and in the writing of the thesis. The focus is on the elaboration of the BA thesis proposal. Work is supervised in the thematic field of environmental change, mobilities and forced migration with a particular focus on case studies from the Global South. The BA thesis is usually conducted as a systematic literature review on a specific topic area. The supervisors will suggest topics.
In the first sessions, information on the procedure, content and formal requirements as well as the distribution of topics will take place. The students choose a topic and enquire about the presentation of milestones (the conceptual note and the final draft of BA thesis). The further sessions then take place along the milestones and support the students in structuring the work process. Central components are discussion and exchange on the work progress, especially in the "crucial" first steps of structuring - narrowing down the topic, writing the synopsis, choosing working methods, planning work, etc.
